Paris

Although I was in Paris for 8 hours due to a layover from Italy, it gave me a chance to see one of the most iconic monuments in France, the Eiffel Tower. A fun fact about the Eiffel Tower is that it was actually supposed to be removed soon after it was built, but it worked so well as a radio antenna that the French decided to keep it. Little did they know it would be such a tourist destination. Now, seeing the tower itself, you're taken aback by its size. When you go to take a picture, you realize the whole tower is unable to be seen in it. Taking a Taxi from Paris Orly Airport (ORY) did not take very long since it's about 10 miles away. So if you have a layover opportunity in Paris, I would make sure it's at the ORY airport for the quickest way to go to the Eiffel Tower. The line for the tower seems long, but for such a view you will witness at the top, it is worth it. There are different levels in the tower you can go to, but the most well-known is the summit. With the glass-encased elevator, you see all of Paris by each foot. When you reach the summit and exit the elevator, you will now see why the Eiffel Tower is known for being one of the best views in Paris. You look around, and not a single building is taller than you. The clouds are so close you can touch them. I went on a rather cloudy day, but even with that, you can see so vast that it doesn't even bother you.

After taking pictures of the incredible view, you head down, and right below the tower are vendors with the sweet treats you've been craving. Crêpes, Macarons, and Éclairs are the perfect way to end a viewing of the Eiffel Tower for cheap as well. Overall, I enjoyed what little time I had in Paris. Maybe one day I can go back and explore more of French culture.
